Escape to Ibiza: Beaches, Old Town and Island Vibes

Everyone knows Ibiza by the party island reputation it has got. But nestled in the heart of the Mediterranean, Ibiza is also renowned for its pristine beaches, charming old town, and laid-back atmosphere that embraces the Spanish slow life philosophy.

Stepping foot onto the island, we can could the party vibe. We checked into the iconic Hard Rock Ibiza hotel and all we could see is the rock ‘n’ roll-themed decor and breathtaking sea views setting the tone for what is expected here and in Ibiza.

Eager to delve into Ibiza’s history, we wandered into the picturesque old town, known as Dalt Vila. The narrow, winding streets lined with whitewashed buildings and quaint shops instantly charmed us and quick comparisons with Greek towns are not surprising. As we strolled along, we discovered hidden gems at every corner, from cozy cafes serving freshly brewed coffee & Aperols to boutiques showcasing local artisans’ unique creations. Climbing up the ancient fortress walls, was rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of the turquoise waters and the sprawling island landscape.

As the afternoon sun beat down, we couldn’t resist the urge to hit the beach. We headed to Playa d’en Bossa, a perfect stretch of sand with crystal-clear waters and spent the afternoon swimming, sunbathing, and listening to the waves crash on the shore. It was the perfect way to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

As the sun started to set, we headed to Café Mambo to catch the sunset. It’s a popular spot for locals and tourists alike, and the views are amazing. We sipped on cocktails and watched the sky turn a fiery red as the sun sank below the horizon. It was a truly magical experience.

To fully embrace the island’s laid-back vibes, you can also explore Ibiza’s lesser-known, tranquil beaches like Cala Salada, nestled amidst verdant cliffs, beckoned me with its untouched beauty. Once can relish in the serenity of this secluded cove, immersing themself in the clear turquoise waters and soaking up the peaceful ambiance. No visit to Ibiza would be complete without immersing oneself in its legendary nightlife and parties. Unfortunately we visited a week before the Party season started so all we could enjoy was the Hard rock in-house DJ playing some hits around a pool party. But do check out the party schedule (mostly starts around mid may and goes on till Sept/Oct) before you plan a trip here.
